Next time you are out visiting the historic San Antonio Missions, stopping by the Mission Library or out on the Mission Reach, Nicha's is a great place to stop for authentic comida mexicana! They serve breakfast all day and are a perfect stop for drinks with friends or just a family dinner.
We originally stopped in because we had a craving for Mexican Food after our trip to New York, where we didn't get any!
While we have visited Nicha's before, we stopped by on a Monday and found out that Kids Eat Free on Mondays and Tuesdays with the purchase of an adult entree. This was news to me, so I had to share it with you all!
We usually love their Watermelon Margaritas, but decided to try their Chamoy and Mango Margarita instead. My husband loves any plate with enchiladas and fajitas, so he chose the Dad's Plate. I chose a combo plate with Tortilla Soup, a flauta and crispy taco and guacamole, all of my faves! (Not pictured, sorry.)
My children loved the bean and cheese chalupa Kid's Plate with double rice, milk, and a dessert!
Of course the one with a sweet tooth chose a paleta, while my son opted for apple sauce!
Even on a night when kids don't eat free, you really can't beat a Kids Plate with an entree, 2 sides (with healthier options of carrots, oranges and salad), a drink, AND a dessert of your choice (ice cream, fruit cup or apple sauce) for $5.49.
This is really becoming one of my favorite restaurants as I learn about their passion for family, seen in their monthly newsletters and their welcoming atmosphere.
There are two locations, the Original on Roosevelt on the Southside of San Antonio and a new second on NW Loop 410, I really hope you give them a try!
