Fall in Sonoma County

Fall in Sonoma County is always a feast for the senses: vineyards burst into color, the sunsets are rich and dramatic, and with the recent rains there is greenery everywhere. I love fall; It means layers of scarves and knits, leather boots, and a hot drink in my hands to warm me up against the crisp air.
It's no secret just how much I love shoes - so when I was sent a pair of OluKai boots I was especially thrilled to learn that they are from my home state of Hawai'i. People often associate warm sand beaches and tropical waters, and the quintessential island life with the Aloha State. But there is also a strong ranching and farm culture; such as Parker Ranch on the Big Island, the cattle farms, and the wild horses of Waipio Valley. I myself lived on a farm in in Kohala. Needless to say, the history and culture of these beautiful leather boots hold a special place in my heart. I'm so proud to own them!
Sweater dresses are another key staple for the season. But have you ever noticed how knit dresses seem to be the very least forgiving of wardrobe items? They seem to either 'add' extra pounds, or highlight every single little bump or jiggle we naturally have. My secret weapon to smoothing things out has been Spanx. By wearing Spanx shorts under my knit dresses, I'm finally able to relax and simply enjoy what I'm wearing. I recently purchased this dress from Kit and Ace because I knew that this style was something that would outlast any trend. (I actually purchased the dress in two colors I loved it so much! I also have it in black.) I rarely wear green, but this dress was totally worth it!
