When we first realised that Facebook is stealing our contents and making random pages using our site tags, we were quite gobsmacked. Sound strange? Let us see some screenshots of our site and Facebook on Google.
After searching for Bonsoni on Google, this result comes up
The red rectangle area is the description of Bonsoni, which is visible to the search engines. The description is:
Bonsoni.com is a classified ads site for Jobs, flatshare, property, used cars, freebies, puppies, kittens, socialising & many more.
Now if we just copy part of the description “a classified ads site for Jobs, flatshare, property, used cars, freebies, puppies, kittens, socialising & many more ” and search on Google, the result shows this:
It is clearly showing Facebook has a page called “Socialising”, where they are using Bonsoni’s home page description.
The page itself is an orphan page; nobody knows who created this and who is maintaining this. The page itself looks like this -
When someone first pointed out this finding, we were confused why it is happening. However, at least now we know how a $36 billion dollar (recently valued) site became so big and popular in a relatively short period of time.
