This artfully presented T Style China editorial with Zhao Wei has such an interesting sense of tranquility interspersed with a subtle sense drama about it. This publication is an offshoot of the New York Times T Magazine. (Vicki) Zhao Wei used to be one of my favorites back when I watched Chinese movies and dramas on a more regular basis. There was a time when my friends and I were obsessed with Princess Returning Pearl (還珠格格). The 43 year old actress has since also taken on the titles of businesswoman, film director and producer. Throughout her career she has been known for her philanthropy and has been actively involved in charity and disaster relief work both as an ambassador and making significant donations, not just showing up for photo ops. Her latest endeavor is directing a documentary draw attention to the plight of poverty while promoting tourism to some of the most poverty-stricken areas in China.
