Yao Chen turns up the drama in this sultry InStyle editorial.  While I haven't really kept up with her acting career, I always look out for her pictorials because she has such a charismatic presence and her expressive personality always seems to really shine through. The award winning actress, activist and philanthropist who became the first UNHCR goodwill ambassador in 2013 is one most popular celebrities on Weibo (China's version of Twitter) with over 79 million followers. She updates her fans on her projects and also uses her considerable influence and presence to raise awareness about social issues. She has addressed the topics of media censorship and air pollution in China as well as the global refugee crisis. It's always admirable when celebrities understand the power of their influence and try to use it to make a positive impact considering some are truly just vapid attention thirsty charlatans who only know how to post SponCon, over filtered selfies or half naked photos of themselves. The gorgeous 39 year old actress who has worked in the industry for two decades has set her sights on producing and established a production company with her husband last year. While she hasn't ruled out an opportunity to work on a Hollywood production in the future, her ideal scenario would be to make films that showcase Chinese culture and values that also have universal appeal. Sounds good to me.
