I have a confession to make. I sometimes like trashy television shows and once upon a time Gossip Girl was one of those shows. I couldn't relate at all to the lives of the privileged upper-class adolescent residents of Manhattan's Upper East Side portrayed on the series and the plotlines were really out there at times. But I think the fact that it was so far removed from reality was a huge factor in my fascination. The fashions were fabulous and NYC was like a stylish background character. I even saw them filming a few times.
