Exploring Inspitalfields

Great Shopping and Gifts from Inspitalfields Store in Old Spitalfields Market

Inspitalfields is probably one of my favourite shops in Spitalfields I’m always in there drooling over all of the interiors and unusual items, I almost always come away with something tucked under my arm (which my boyfriend preceded to tell me off for, but secretly loves.)

For those of you who have never been to Inspitalfields, well first off you’re missing a treat but let me tell you a little about the store… The stores owner Fiona Hannafin, started out with a market stall selling furniture, lifestyle essentials, gifts & greeting cards and has slowly developed it to the magnificent treasure trove it is today.

Since summer (hopefully) is on its way I took a trip down to Inspitalfields and decided to pick out my top buys for this sunny season, Take a peek…

First up there’s no missing the amazing wooden cow head smack bang in the store, named Madonna by staff she is stunning, with a bit of sparkle and the perfect addition to an eccentric summer house.

These few are my perfect products for the summer traveler; the Travelogue is a journal that allows you to plot your travel progress while scribbling it all down so in years to come you can look back and remember it all. The Lonely Planet Best Ever Travel Tipsis an amazing gift for your backing packing friend just in case they need a little help. The cork world map is one to test your geography but a great gift for the seasoned traveler so they can pin their photos to the board in the given spots. (I have one of these and I bloody love it!)

Travelogue – £19.95 Travel Tips book – £4.99 Corkboard Map - £35

If you’re planning on picnicking this summer they have the most amazing luxury picnic basket complete with real china and glasses neatly strapped in so they won’t roll around and squash your sandwiches, no one wants flat ham and cheeses. I already have my picnic blanket and prosecco at the ready!

Picnic Basket with Cooler - £79.00 Domed Picnic Basket - £69.00

This one is for kids and adults a-like and a great activity for a sunny day in the garden or if like most Londoners you live in a flat, a sunny day on the balcony. The Kew Gardens Grow kit is the ultimate in green fingered DIY gifts and the box containing the planting kit is even waterproofed so it can be used as the pot!

Throughout the store this season there is such a heavy influence of everything Safari that it is hard to miss! Therefore I couldn’t complete this article without telling you about two of the most amazing chairs that sit just in front of the cash desk. They wouldn’t quite fit in my flat or I might just have bought them. Fun and colorful but in a classic way, I think they would be perfect for a renovated town house and I can assure you they are comfy!

Chairs - £699.00 (each)

Finally everyone at Inspitalfields is a little obsessed with anything gold, they even have a gold wall! So I had to include their little gold gnome, just the thing to bling up your garden!
