Exciting Sneak Peek: Adult Swim Showcases Ninja Kamui in SDCC 2023 Trailer

Excitement reached a fever pitch at San Diego Comic Con 2023 as Adult Swim treated fans to an exclusive look at their upcoming action thriller anime series, “Ninja Kamui.” The “Toonami on the Green” panel became a focal point as the network unveiled a tantalizing trailer, teasing the intense world of ninja warfare that awaits viewers.

Under the skilled direction of Sunghoo Park, acclaimed for his work on “Jujutsu Kaisen” season one and “The God of High School,” “Ninja Kamui” promises to deliver an enthralling and action-packed storyline. The series is brought to life through the collaboration of Sola Entertainment, overseeing production, and E&H Production, handling animation. Taking charge of character design is Takeshi Okazaki, renowned for his work on “Fate/Grand Order: Zettai Majuu Sensen Babylonia.” Meanwhile, art direction is skillfully managed by Yann Le Gall, celebrated for works like “Fairy Gone” and “Cannon Busters.”

The trailer introduces viewers to the protagonist, Joe Higan, a former ninja who once sought refuge in America with his family. However, Higan’s life takes a dark turn when he becomes the target of a team of relentless assassins, seeking vengeance for his betrayal of their clan. Rising from the ashes as the formidable Ninja Kamui, he embarks on a perilous journey of revenge, vowing to dismantle the very clan that brought his world crashing down. Armed with a lethal combination of ancient ninja skills and cutting-edge weaponry, Higan must confront deadly foes, including assassins, robots, and rival ninjas, all in his relentless pursuit of justice.

The latter part of the trailer features Sunghoo Park, providing insight into the series’ compelling synopsis and production, and sharing a heartfelt message with the viewers. As anticipation grows, “Ninja Kamui” promises to be a gripping and action-packed anime, sure to leave audiences on the edge of their seats when it premieres on Toonami in 2024.
