Estonian indie folk band Ewert and the Two Dragons released their spiffy new album Circles yesterday on Sire/Warner Music. The band grew up together in the Soviet Union, and they were far removed from music, save for limited access to a few British and American records. The four-piece began performing together in 2008 and they have two other albums, The Hills Behind The Hills and Good Man Down, under their belts. Circles is awash with bouncy guitar riffs, subdued keys, and nostalgic lyrics — sounds that mirror the band’s creative restlessness leading up to this album release. Before getting back into the studio to record Circles, the band had been on the road almost nonstop for two years! Needless to say, they were eager to be recording new material together again.
