Earlier this year something unexpected happened... I was in my garden when my phone started going crazy with Twitter notifications; Tweets such as 'You did it!' and 'Congratulations!'. I then realised and seen that I'd been shortlisted from an insane 43000 blogs to just 14 in the Best New Beauty Blog Category in the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards. I cried solid for an hour - nothing like this has ever happened to me before!
Last week I packed my bags and headed down to London for the Awards Ceremony. I didn't have long to get ready due to the pure craziness of London and a quick stop and shop at a MAC Store. For my outfit I decided to wear my Blue Floral ROMWE Dress as my first choice didn't arrive (boo!), along with my eBay Chunky White Heels, a Next clutch and a sweep of MAC's Russian Red on my lips.
The event was held in the OXO Tower overlooking the Thames, an amazing venue. We were greeted with champagne and lots of gorgeous bloggers - I didn't know where to look, everyone looked so flawless! The Awards went down smoothly and everyone who won really did deserve to; I just felt so overwhelmed that I was even shortlisted. The night continued with free cocktails and meeting my favorite bloggers. I spoke to Sammi from Beauty Crush and Gracie from The Ugly Face of Beauty who were both so inspiring & humble, I felt like a total fangirl! I also met and spent time with the girl whose blog was the very first one I began to read - Lucy from Lulutrixabelle. She's the epitome of cool, I adore her!
I just want to give a mention to some of the gorgeous girls I met throughout the night, you were all amazing. Kate from Pretty Little Us, Em from Em Talks, Lydia from Fashion Influx, Stacie from Life is Worth the Fight, Hannah from Cosmetic Crave, Ellie from Ellie's Ramblings, Jess from Copper Garden to only name a few!Thank you to Cosmopolitan and thank you so much for nominating, voting for and supporting me. You have no idea how grateful I am and it was an experience that I'll treasure forever. It's made me even more determined to grab myself a winning title next year and hopefully move to London after University, fingers crossed! Watch this space!
