Etsy present OPEN, the very first art exhibition of UK Etsy artists taking place during London Art Month. As part of the exhibition there will be an interactive mural on the wall outside of the gallery space. People who visit will be able to add their own touch of creativity to the mural throughout the 4 days and watch it evolve.
OPEN is taking place in East London and will feature contemporary work by fifteen UK artists, specially selected to showcase the diverse range of artistic styles, practices and subjects found on Etsy.com.
The exhibitors were selected from an open application call to all UK artists selling on Etsy. With over 600 applications a panel of three curators narrowed this down to the final fifteen who represent the very best of art of Etsy, from painting and fine art ceramics to printmaking. Curated by Matt Roberts from a-n, Lena Nix from Space Studios and Katherine Mellor, a freelance art consultant who has curated for Government Art Collection, OPEN explores the wonderfully eclectic nature of art produced by Etsy.com’s creative community.
The participating artists are; Kristi Cumming, Lucy Pass, Timothy Gent, Ben Lewis Giles, Laura Bird, Vanessa Donnelly, Maya Mladenovic, William White, Lou Taylor, Kitty Cooper, James Brown, Midori Takaki, Becci Maryanne, Alice Duck and Kethi Copeland.
