Enhancing Homes Through Artificial Plants

By Matt From Sgc @MattSGC

Traditionally, wreaths are put up during Christmas time but it’s not a bad idea to use them during the rest of the year. Lavender wreaths look amazing no matter what the season is and the artificial variety is simply too beautiful for words. They add a sense of homely coziness and simple allure.

Wandering Jew plants are superb to look at whether you place them on tabletops or hang them from pots out in the verandah/portico. The realism of the leaves and the white patterns on them are quite beautiful, especially during the day.

Delphinium stems and blooming roses are favorites in the field of artificial plants. They are superb to see when placed on glass tables and in other prominent locations of the house like the dining table and living room, where they can serve as centerpieces.

The silver king plant and the triple bamboo palm (or the ficus artificial tree) are perfect for corner tables and stairwell decor. They add a sense of poshness and calm to these spaces and look amazing when the breeze catches them (probably from a nearby window).

A rare but exotic choice is the triple stalk banana tree. It is every bit as lush and gorgeous as it sounds. The yellow bananas contrast wonderfully with the deep green leaves that are as wide as they are ideally placed on the stalk. These look amazing when standing alone. That’s when they bring out the decor appeal to best effect. Mixing and matching banana trees with flowers and bamboo is a bad idea, because then the overall effect is lost and the sight looks a bit too crowded.

Another favorite in the hanging plant category are bougainvillea. These lovely flowers are great to look at in spring and summer time and add a sense of wholesomeness to any space they hang in. Hanging these plants so the long stems dangle alluringly is a good choice. Something similar applies for hibiscus plants too, which look superb any time of year.

Any home, large, medium or small, will look amazing with mini-rose silk trees. They are an ingenious combination of flower and tree and look stunning in any setting. Place them in well-lit areas and watch as they catch your eye no matter what you are doing. Stand this tree in areas where family and friends often pass to get to another place in the house. They add a sense of European beauty with a touch of summery extravagance.

Olive trees are one of the simplest choices in the world of artificial plants but they are also one of the most distinct. Few plants can draw out the appeal olive trees bring. They add a sense of yesteryear class while instilling a modern need for practicality. The leaves and stem of olive trees are quite unique and the ‘nearly natural’ variety lives up to that standard.
