Finity Netlabel Profile Introduction
Welcome to Netlabel Profiles, the show that explores some of the best and most diverse music on the internet today. On this episode of Netlabel Profiles we visit a city that:
- Has over 100 waterfalls within a 10 mile radius of the town
- As a frontier town with questionable morals, this town was briefly known as Sodom
- This town takes its name from a Greek island in Homer’s Odyssey
- The city’s modern history began when Congress awarded Revolutionary War soldiers land grants to settle the area in the late 1700’s

- The yellow brick road in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz may have been inspired by this town.
- This city has it’s own legal currency, based on the amount of work a person can do in an hour.
- The song “Puff the Magic Dragon” was written in this town, based on a poem a local student gave to Peter Yarrow.
- The novel “Lolita” by Vladimir Nabokov in this town. It was almost destroyed here too after being rejected by every American publisher.

Finity Netlabel Profile
That was Silencer Pulverize (Rough Draft) by Inten on our featured netlabel: Finity, from Ithaca, New York in the USA.
Finity originally started as LOV3X records back in 2012. The label went through two name changes: first Transition records, and then it became Finity late last year. Initially the label started as a way for Jasper Minson to release some of the work he had been producing. Over time, he split his output into several projects: You Still Have Friends, Inten, and IMC Sun. This year the label has started reaching out to other acts in order to expand their roster. Rowan Box is one of the first artists added to the label.
Jasper describes Finity this way:
Finity has no aims of releasing a sole genre of music, but we place emphasis on creativity over technical skill. I hope to keep a high acceptance rate for our demo policy, which I’ll be rolling out over the summer. The ultimate goal of Finity is to provide a home for unique artists to grow and develop, so we’ll welcome you to the roster even if you’ve just been making music for a week.
Currently Finity has 50 releases in their catalog, posting new releases every month. The music is released under a Creative Commons Attribution, Non-Commercial, Share Alike license.
