It’s easy to tell that Emil Friis is a film composer by trade. His newest track “No More Workmans Blues” immediately creates a sense of place and mood. With lush orchestration and a melody that’s delicate but still manages to chug forward – the track would not be out of place as a theme of a film. The video for the song takes that cinematic feeling and creates a moving story around it. It’s a lovely track that is made even more potent by an incredible video. Friis told us that the video worked out perfectly, following a real life janitor as he got ready for a line dancing competition:

“It’s kind of ironic to think that a real life janitor would star in a video for a song called ‘No More Workmans Blues’. Almost too obvious. And it wasn’t planed out like that. I just wanted a guy dancing, a square dancer. It could be a line dancer too. Not sure I could tell difference though. But as it turned out, Leon our dancing friend, is in fact a real life janitor. He was preparing for and competing in the Danish Line Dance Championships when Niels Buchholzer (Cinematographer/Director) and I made the video.”

Check out the video above and make sure to look out for Sand in Your Eye coming in April.
