Elf Hava's newly rescued puppy, Gus, on his first visit to our workshop. He's a squirmy little guy.
At Soft Star, it has always been a priority for us to give back to the community that treats us so spectacularly. We decided we were due for another volunteer project, so earlier this week we closed our shop for half a day and took a field trip to our local humane society's new thrift store.
A whole team of elves loaded into the carpool vans and took off for the store's new location. We spent the morning weeding, shoveling and clearing debris from the property. The weather was fortunately cooperative, and a few hours and aching backs later we were able to look back and appreciate our beautification efforts.
Here are some photos of our trip:
SafeHaven's New Thrift and Gift Storefront Elves at work! Weeds ran wild, but they were no match for the shoemakers. Soft Star Owner and C.Elf.O. Larkin getting her hands dirty. Perfect weather! Not raining, not too hot. Clearing debris off the property, which was formerly an auto garage. Weeding, weeding and more weeding. Elf family portrait!
Unfortunately, there were no cute puppies on site, but Elf Hava promises to bring Gus back to the shop for another visit soon.
