After releasing a couple of well-received EPs Brighton based electro dream pop trio Elder Island are now ready for the next step. Can they keep the attention span going for an entire album Their debut full-length The Omnitone Collection finds them making inroads into jazz, folk, and triphop.
They alternate between accessible pop and gnarly soundscapes, with shifting rhythms and jagged vocalizing. They create smooth yet rough songs with plenty of surprises. Not danceable per se, but that won't stop people from trying. Recommended if you like Portishead and Dead Can Dance.
Elder Island:
David Havard: guitart, synths
Katy Sergent: vocals
Luke Thornton: bass, beats
The Omnitone Collection is self-released album. Buy it from their website.
