Egnyte: Third Party Cloud Storage Offers New File Sharing Option

One of the world’s leading providers of file sharing and synchronization to business has recently launched a third-party cloud storage solution, the first of its kind ever created by the industry. Egnyte, a company headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, hope that their new product will add to the extensive list of features that already come with premium product EgnytePlus.

Egnyte-Cloud

Aside from integration with Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft Azure and NetApp Storage GRID, it promises to deliver an easy-to-use file sharing facility which many business customers will come to expect from Egnyte, but how will third party cloud storage actually work?

In theory, it should be pretty easy to work with from first use, as it allows for easy file transfer from one cloud storage space to another. It works using hybrid cloud technology, something that separates Egnyte from many of its rivals.

Cheaper services

Some of the most notable providers of cloud storage have cut their prices by as much as 30%, partially in response to customer complaints about the cost of even the most basic packages.

As some of the major players in cloud computing lower their prices, there could be a risk that the quality of their service might not be what customers could come to expect.

The new offering from Egnyte will ensure value for money and a great cloud storage service that’s compatible with existing ones. Integration of cloud services will inevitably mean more space and it won’t interfere with access to files stored on the cloud for employees, contractors or even clients who need to see them at short notice.

Part of the solution

Having enough storage spaces for important files that need to be shared among co-workers is something many businesses will worry about, but according to the CEO of Egnyte Vineet Jain, choice and control are possible with third party cloud storage.

“Something I’ve become accustomed to hearing is that technology today begins and ends with the cloud, but it doesn’t have to be that way”, he said.

“Not all files are the same – PDFs, spread-sheets and straightforward documents need their own space, and third party cloud storage gives users control and choice over where they can store and access their most important files.”

“Most large firms will use at least one cloud storage provider in tandem with on-site servers. We’re offering the only solution for companies to control all of them.”
