The results were collected after a UK nation-wide study based on over 840,000 samples and driving more than 23,000 miles across all four UK nations. RootMetrics has used “off-the-shelf mobile phones” for its’ outdoors, driving, and indoor location testings. EE and Three were the main competition in every aspect of these tests, however EE always claimed first place in almost all tests. Overall performance score placed EE at top with 84.6 points, Three at second place with 73.5, followed by O2 66.5 and Vodafone 52.4.
“These results give UK consumers and businesses the most accurate view of mobile performance in the UK that has ever been made available,” said RootMetrics CEO and President Bill Moore. “No other study of this size and scale for mobile performance has ever been carried out before in the UK, and it has, for the first time, shown consumers the true services they are receiving from their network provider.”
