Asheville-based experimental darling, Jackson Scott, drops his debut this week, an explosion of heavy, sweet melodies underneath layers of swirling guitar fuzz. Fans of Bradford Cox should take note, as Scott is constantly drawing comparisons to Deerhunter, even opening for them last spring. Another debut set forth to woo you this week is Mean Lady’s Love Now, which contains pop songs that are so well-crafted, it actually is pretty mean.

Two bands releasing their third records this week are hippie pop sweethearts Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and NC singer-songwriter, The Love Language. Edward Sharpe’s troupe has written yet another uplifting, chill album for the masses (the cult continues), and The Love Language’s latest brings some heart and soul songwriting in the form of straightforward, endearing rock songs..

Last is the now Brooklyn-based Weekend, who have put together their second full-length. Jinx is chilling, honest and dark post-punk that will shake your bones with its roaring, head-on approach.
