Los Angeles indie rock troupe Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros (@edwardsharpe) have a new album, Here, hitting shelves on May 29th via Community Records. In addition, enough material developed during the recording session that a second album will be released before the end of the year. “Instead of putting it out all at once, we found that two different albums seemed to be forming,” said lead singer Alex Ebert. While this may not be standard for the recording industry, fans certainly aren’t complaining about multiple releases in 2012.
Only 3 months in, this has actually already been a stellar year for the band. In addition to their album release, Big Easy Express, the documentary about Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and Old Crow Medicine Show touring the southwest via vintage railroad cars premiered at the SXSW Film Festival, and actually won the Headliner Artist Award!
