Easy To Use Contouring Products and Tools

By Triedandtestedblogger @triedtestedblog

With contouring all the rage these days, it can be hard to choose just which products to use because there are so many on the market so today I’m sharing a few of my favourite, easy to use contouring products and brushes that will help you get those chiseled cheekbones in no time!

If you’re looking for an all in one palette that not only provides you with a contouring shade but also a highlighting powder and shimmery illuminator, the Designer Brands Contour Kit* is a great choice because it’s not only affordable but the powders are lovely. Beautifully smooth in texture, the powders are pigmented enough to provide color on the skin but without the risk of accidentally over applying. They blend out beautifully and have a lovely natural finish.

The Maybelline New York Master Sculpt Contouring Palette* features a contour and highlighting shade as well as a brush and mirror hidden in a compartment under the powders, making this a great duo to travel with too. Although I’m quite fair, I love using the medium/dark version of this palette to contour with (and the light/medium palette to bronze with) as it has a gorgeous cool tone contour shade that doesn’t look muddy. The powders are pigmented, silky and blend out very well, making it a product I reach for quite often.

One brush that has made contouring so much easier for me is the Poni Cosmetics Contour Brush #18* which features a flat, dense head of bristles that picks up product well and blends it effortlessly as the hairs are very soft and packed together tightly. The flat head also allows the brush to slide perfectly under the cheekbones to carve and contour the face.

A classic option for a contour shade has to be the Benefit Cosmetics Hoola powder. As it is slightly warmed than the other shades and having fairer skin, I have to use this powder with a light hand when it comes to contouring but once you work out just how much you need to use, it’s a lovely contouring powder that doesn’t look too warm or too cool in tone, ensuring a nice, natural finish to the face.

One interesting new product soon to be on the market is the Klara Cosmetics Sculpt Me Skinny Contour Stick* which features a dual end contour stick with a white cream and a dark brown cream. What’s great about this product is that you can customise the contour shade you want to create, simply by applying more or less of one shade, making it perfect for makeup artists, those who find their skin tone varies throughout the year (due to tanning) and for creating a more intense contour for the evenings. The creams apply beautifully and glide onto the face, blending out easily and evenly with a powder texture.

What are your favorite contouring products?
