Sometimes you just have to just choose fun and easy!
The school and work week can get so hectic. And while I try to plan ahead as much as possible with meal plans and such, sometimes, I just have to plan for easy and fun to mix things up! One way I accomplish this is by having an easy morning routine that doesn't mean I have to wake up 2 hours before the kids.
It's easy. Take a few minutes before you go to bed to do these 3 steps.
Fruit Shoot drinks help make easy school lunches and picnic dinners. #fuelyourimagination #fruitshoot #sp Here's how to plan for easy morning routine:
1. Have an designated area in your refrigerator and/or pantry for lunchbox items.
Clean and small snack size fruit/veggies in a container in the refrigerator and dry snacks, raisins, Fruit Shoot drinks in a bin in the pantry.
2. Take out breakfast items and put on the table.
Think bowls, cereal, spoons...on the table, ready to go. It's a bonus when the kids can pour the milk for themselves. Do this everyday and the kids will get into the habit and get breakfast ready on their own! 3. Layout lunchbox essentials the night before.
Open the lunchbox, set the bread, napkins, all in one spot, so you are not zigzagging all around the kitchen in the morning! Easy lunches and picnic dinners for Spring
And wa-la! Set your alarm and get ready to have a smooth morning!
I like adding in fun and unexpected items like Fruit Shoot drinks. They contain real fruit juice, no high fructose corn syrup, no added sugar or natural flavors and they keep my littles hydrated while on the playground!
My kids remembered Fruit Shoot because it is sold at the San Antonio Zoo, and were so excited to see it in the morning! They are also available at Walmart, Family Dollar and Dollar General in the refrigerated coolers, often near the checkouts.
I hope this bit of advice helps you have a great morning. And when all else fails and you forget the lunches in the refrigerator, have a picnic in the backyard!
Or on days where you have an extracurricular after school and work, pack a "lunch" and have dinner at the park or on the soccer field. This way you skip the fast food run after soccer practice! :)
