I've always been a huge football fan; high school, college, NFL... you name it, I like it. Maybe it's because fall is my favorite season or maybe it's because there's nothing more exciting than being at a game. Who knows, but I can tell you that on top of my love for football, I also love to throw parties. So prepping for the Big Game is always super exciting for me!
The Big Game calls for a fabulous spread; dips, wings, pizza.. the whole nine yards. Finger foods are great because you can leave them out for people to pick at the whole game. And let's face it, football games are super stressful and there's nothing better than comfort food.
One of the most requested apps I make is my Easy Mexican dip. Over the years, I've combined a few different recipes I've tried and this one has always been my favorite. The one here is closet to the one I make :)
Easy Mexican Dip
Ingredients:
1 can refried beans (I use fat-fee)1 packet taco seasoning1 16 oz container sour cream (I use light)1 package cream cheese (I use light)1 jar of salsa 1 head iceberg lettuce1/2 green pepper1 small can of olives2 stalks of green onion1 package cheese (I used the Mexican)
Instructions:
Layer 1: Beans mixed with taco seasoning. Layer 2: Sour cream mixed with cream cheese. Layer 3: SalsaLayer 4:CheeseLayer 5: Green pepper, olives, onionsLayer 6: Lettuce
Super easy, right?! Now I will say that normally, I do the green pepper and green onion after the salsa, followed by lettuce, cheese, and then olives. But because I was preparing it for a football party, I wanted to get a little creative and make it into a football field :)

To draw the lines on the field, I put sour cream in a bag and cut a small hole. And then I used the new Cheez-It Crunch'd as the "Os" and cut pretzels into "Xs"!

I also wanted to find a way to make individual tacos and thought that Pringles would make the perfect serving size! I scooped a spoonful of taco meat, shreds of lettuce, and a pinch of cheese. So cute, right??
Individual Tacos:
Can of Pringles1 lb ground beef1 packet taco seasoningShredded lettuce (amount depends on how many you make)1 pack Mexican cheese
Instructions:
Prepare meat according to taco seasoning instructions. Spread Pringles and top with meat, cheese, and lettuce. Dummy proof, right?? :)

I picked up a lot of my ingredients/decorations at Walmart and party stores, but also used stuff I've previously purchased. That's one of the biggest things I do when buying things for parties... always buy pieces I can use down the road!
I love watching football but I love watching it even more when I'm surrounded by others who love it too. It's fun if you're rooting for the same time but sometimes it's even more fun if you aren't. I mean, a little friendly competition is good for the soul, right?
What are your favorite game day appetizers?! I'm always up for adding something new to my spread! Easy game day appetizersEasy game day appetizers
