Easiest Way to Unjailbreak Your iPhone

Posted on the 19 July 2015 by Tftb @TFTB

Saurik, the founder of Cydia has always been the bearer of good news for the jailbreak community. This time he has released a new tool called 'Cydia Impactor' which allows jailbreakers to unjailbreak iPhone without updating to the latest iOS version.

Easiest Way to Unjailbreak your iPhone

Earlier one has to upgrade/reinstall iOS on the iPhone to the latest or current version by resetting and restoring the firmware. Usually users who want to sell their device would clean their device and in that process will be forced to upgrade to the latest iOS version as they had to perform a full system restore, forcing a upgrade to the latest iOS firmware. This also meant the option of jailbreaking is also gone as Apple fixes the jailbreak exploit in every firmware upgrade.

To retain the ability to jailbreak one has to keep the unpatched iOS firmware version, this meant not upgrading or restoring your device. But not any more.

Cydia Impactor is a tool that allows you to return to the stock firmware you are on without forcing an upgrade to the device. This is achieved by installing the same name package from Cydia and running it on your device.

But wait, don't run it right away. Make sure you read this post carefully before taking that action ( if you want to ). There a few things you should know before you use this tool.

BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP!

The tool is meant to restore your device to the stock firmware you are on. This is means it will wipe your device clean of data. So the first thing even before you are ready to install this package is, backup your device on iCloud or locally via iTunes. This will make sure that you have your data safe and secure and can restore back just the data without forcefully upgrading the firmware.

BETA

Even though this tool is made by Saurik ( the most trustworthy guy in jailbreak community ), it is still in beta. This means it is very much important that you follow the instructions carefully when you run it. The most important thing Saurik himself recommends is you charge you iPhone to 100% and then use this tool. While using this tool you need to make sure you do no touch it once it starts, let it run its course and finish up the process itself.

DO NOT TOUCH YOUR DEVICE

As mentioned before this is very important for you to know, you should not be touching your device when you run the Cydia Impactor. Make sure your iPhone is first connected to Internet ( preferably a stable WiFi ) when you run as it, as after running this you will need to reactive your device and go the normal setup process as a new iPhone.

INSTALL & RUN CYDIA IMPACTOR

Just update your Cydia packages, search for Cydia Impactor and you can find it right away. Run the Cydia Impactor by tapping ' delete all data and unjailbreak device', then hit ' Delete All' button to confirm it for the last time.
And done, this will start the process.

Once this is over, your device will be restored to the stock version you are on and can reactive and use it as a new device. If you want you can re jailbreak it using the same tool you earlier used to jailbreak.

Still confused?
