Sharing my favorite images from the early days of photography...
Title: Dawn and Sunset
Date: 1885
Location: England
Photographer: Henry Peach Robinson (1830-1901)
Process: platinum print from glass negative
Note: Robinson pioneered the "combination printing" technique (a.k.a. early photomontage). He used a number of negatives to form a single image, which gave him greater control over the resulting scene than would have been possible with a single exposure.
The image above is a symbolic portrayal of three generations.
