E-Design: SM's Formal Living Room

By Homewithbaxter @homewithbaxter
Happy Labor Day!  Today I have another e-design to share with you.  SM contacted me looking for help with her formal living area.  The space (which adjoins her family room) was a mix of old and new furniture and styles.  SM wanted to create a "quiet place for reading and visiting with friends" and wanted to incorporate some of her existing pieces. The walls were recently painted Benjamin Moore's Coventry Gray and she wanted to keep that color.  She likes "neutrals with bright accents (pink or turquoise) and "mixing patterns and textures."
She selected my Decor To-Go package and here's the design I came up with:

I kept the furniture neutral (grays, whites, and woods) and added a pop of color and pattern with throw pillows, curtains, and decor.  I arranged the room for conversation and used a console table and ottomans behind the sofa to help divide the space (the formal living room and family room are separated by columns and arches).
I really enjoyed working on this project.  Each of my clients have had such different styles and tastes so it keeps things interesting!  If you need help decorating a room(s) in your house, I'd love to help!  Visit my website, JLP Interiors, for details.
