We fell pretty hard for The Dum Dum Girls 2012 EP End of Daze. With it’s hazy guitars and darkly shimmering pop vibes it was pretty much constantly on repeat all last year. Now we finally have some new sounds from the group, and it’s pretty much as awesome as we could have hoped. The moody halloween production doesn’t take away from the dirtiness the girls mastered back when they first hit, but adds some interesting depth and growth to their sound. It’s got all the shimmer of a delicious garage rock track with an amazing crushed-black-velvet sensibility that we are absolutely in love with.
The Dum Dum Girls LP Too True is out Jan 29th on Sub Pop, and we’re counting down the days. In the meantime, check out this sublimely strange H&M ad / music video that comes with the track. Bonus: it totally gives the style guide for my winter wardrobe-”less busty Elvira!”
