Drybar: A Review

By Linsibrownson @CleverSpark

I am SO excited to welcome our newest contributor today, Kristina Gulino from Nook & Sea.  With a passion for design and all things SoCal, she spends her time searching for beauty in everything.  Her first post is a review of a local hotspot and I can’t wait to see how it went! – Linsi

Drybar: A Review
A few years ago, I had a party to attend and decided to get my hair done. I strolled into Fantastic Sams, plopped down in the chair, and came out with a teased mushroom that had so much hairspray in it, I cried trying to brush it out that night. Unbeknownst to me, what finally came later was a the fruition of a long-awaited concept – a salon dedicated solely to blowouts, and for only $35 bucks. Enter: Drybar!

Drybar: A Review
This answer-to-prayer has 10 locations in California and multiple branches in Arizona, Georgia, New York and Texas. Steadily filled with happy clients, Drybar is getting rave reviews from around the nation (and you can bet with all the pampering, one of them is from me)!

Upon entering the shop, you immediately feel you’re somewhere special. The store is glamorous without being intimidating, and the yellow and gray color combo is fun and cheery. All guests are offered champagne or mimosas during their session, and styling is very quick (but with all the attention, quality and service of a high-end salon). The stylists use BioIonic tools along with L’Oreal and Moroccan Oil product, which leaves your hair feeling amazing. Plus, your style usually lasts a few days and is perfect for work or a weekend out.

I arrived with my hair naturally wavy, and was looking for something sleek and smooth for photos later that day. Drybar has a clever menu of styles to choose from (I chose The Manhattan), and my stylist, Cody, did an amazing job. I felt she was truly interested in how I wanted my hair to look, and was friendly to chat with during my time in the chair.
