Cleansers that do not foam when applied on the skin are the best option for dry skin. These keep your skin from getting dry. Always use a non-medicated cleanser when you are using a topical medicated ointment, lotion or cream for treating acne. If you are thinking of using a medicated cleanser, you must first take the advice of a skin specialist and then use it.

Do not over wash:

If you wash your skin too often, the skin may lose its natural oils and moisture and this leads to drier skin. So do not over wash your skin. If you are using a cleanser to clean your face, use it only once a day. You can use it in the evening after removing all the makeup from your face. But when you have a dry skin, you may use less drying products like creams, lotions and ointments. Home Remedies for Acne on Dry Skin:

Cucumber:

Cucumber is great for your skin and provides you a clear and bright skin. It helps in giving coolness to your skin and also prevents skin irritation. Grind a cucumber and apply on the face. This will moisturize your skin and also removes excess oil from the skin. Regular use of this vegetable keeps your skin moisturized and blemish free.

Garlic:

Garlic is a good source of zinc, sulphur, allicin and calcium, all of which have antifungal and antibacterial properties. Make a paste of garlic and cloves with a little water and apply on your face. Wash off after a few minutes.

Lemon juice:

The acidic nature of lemon helps in drying up of acne on the skin. Dip cotton balls in fresh lemon juice and apply on the affected area. This gives you a clear skin.

Potato:

Due to the presence of vitamin C in potato, the production of collagen in the skin is increased by applying potato on the face. Grate a potato and apply it as a face pack. This also heals as well as prevents any harm caused by the rays of the sun. Regeneration of the skin is promoted by the presence of vitamin B in this vegetable, while niacin present in it has skin lightening properties.

Tomato pulp:

Tomato is a rich source of vitamins A, C and K, which are found in most of the lotions and creams that you get in the market for the treatment of acne. Moreover, it also has acidic properties, which leads to the drying up of acne on the skin. All you have to do is to cut a tomato and scrub your face with the tomato piece. You can also mash one tomato and apply it on the face as a face pack. Wait for a few minutes and then wash off. Apply this regularly for a few weeks till the acne disappear.
