2k15 must be Drake’s year because his mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late went platinum this week, after selling an additional 8,000 copies. This make Drake’s mixtape album the first album released in 2k15 to go platinum.
According to Billboard, it has sold 1.007 million units since its February release. Taylor Swift’s 1989 is the only other album to sell a million this year, but it was released in 2014. This accomplishment marks the fourth platinum album for Drake, following Nothing Was the Same (1.72 million), Take Care (2.26 million) and Thank Me Later (1.8 million). Drake took to instagram to thank his loyal fans for purchasing his music.
