Dr. Dog Ready New Album and Release ‘the Truth’ [stream]

Like swingers on a beach at night, Philly’s Dr. Dog is stripping down and jumping in for their upcoming eighth studio album, B-Room, out October 1st. Shedding the confines of their long-standing Meth Beach Studios, the sextet spent weeks building a new studio out of an old silversmith mill, then produced and recorded their album in a similar from-the-ground-up manner. Starting from scratch, Dr. Dog undressed their writing and recording processes, using all six members to help write songs and recording most of the tracks in full-band, live recordings.

We see the success of this reductionist formula with their new track, “The Truth”, streaming above.  The song shows us a Dr. Dog stripped of their psychedelic pageantry, leaving a sound you can nuzzle up to, feeling the warmth of their sweet Philadelphia soul. Check out the lyric video below and be sure to catch the album when it comes out October 1st.
