This was from my first trip to the gorgeous Lyon Air Museum, its not the biggest museum collection but what they do have is presented beautifully. Their Douglas A-26B Invader, “Feeding Frenzy,” was built at the end of World War II, spent a few years flying with the French in Indo-China in the 1950s and was later acquired by Hughes Aircraft Company. It is reported that Howard Hughes himself flew this very airplane. This Invader has a glass nose from the A-26C variant instead of the solid nose of the B model. First flown in 1942, more than 2,500 would be produced and used worldwide and see action in multiple wars. The last B-26 in active duty was retired from the Colombian Air Force in 1980.
