Don’t Sleep on Sohn’s New Ep [stream]

London via Vienna wunderkind, S O H N, recently released his stunning debut EP, The Wheel, via startup Aesop Label. The tight body of work held together by the title track — “The Wheel”, a lush soundscape resting on a bed of manipulated vocals, finds its power in simplicity. The two other tracks, “Red Lines” and “The Prestige”, hold their own, aesthetically complimenting “The Wheel” while exploring synthetic themes only touched upon in the opener. A sense of reflective solitude shadows the three song EP, not uncommon from the mind of a twenty-something year old. Little is to be found on the Austrian man of mystery but a nameless Twitter account and Facebook page. Despite his potentially frustrating anonymity, the music is clear: our first introduction to S O H N is one not to be ignored. Check out the lead single “The Wheel” above.
