Blind dog and seeing-eye catPwditat and Terfel

Alexandra Pleffer reports for MSN New Zealand, Jan. 3, 2013, that 8-year-old Terfel, a dog in Wales, is almost blind from cataracts.

Terfel can only see patches of light and darkness. So he hardly ever left his basket because he would bump into things.

But Terfel now has a new lease on life thanks to Pwditat, a stray cat whom Terfel’s person had adopted.

On their first meeting, the cat walked up to Terfel in his basket and led him out into the garden.

Pwditat has continued to lead her vision-impaired friend around the home since.

Anne Cragg, who cares for the pair now that their owner isn’t able to, said: “Pwditat immediately seemed to know that Terfel is blind. She uses her paws to help guide him. They are glued to each other and even sleep together now.”
