A large number of documents stored in the record room of the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital have been stolen by a group of unidentified individuals.
“Among the stolen documents are those relating to the registration of patients admitted to the hospital and other important documents,” hospital sources said.
Director of the Hospital Dr. Chandana Kendagamuwa has lodged a complaint with the Kurunegala Police in this regard after an officer in charge of the record room reported the incident to the Director.
Accordingly, the Kurunegala Police have commenced an investigation into the incident.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that those documents have not been stolen in a single attempt and it has been continued for weeks. Police are investigating.
