When you’re pregnant, you love your good hair days and that natural glow on your skin. But wait, you also get a lot of scars and marks on your body after this stage. Yes, it’s due to the stretching of your belly that causes those scars which are termed as stretch marks. And no matter how much someone assures you about getting these scars vanished instantly, treating stretch marks isn’t an easy job and can take months to heal. But yes, you can try and diminish them to a certain extent by following this list of do’s and don’ts.
Do start early – Treating stretch marks require an early care. You can start caring these scars as soon as your tummy expands a bit. This means as soon as you step in your eighth week of pregnancy, you can start applying stretch marks oil or cream or the moisturiser when you’re planning to treat it. This will help you get rid of it early and even the scars won’t be that visible and deep later.
Don’t use any treatment you heard of – You might get lots of advices from the moms in your circle about treating the stretch marks. But, we suggest you to not to believe all those advices and start acting on it. Always verify those tips through a good source and ask your medical advisor about the same before using any kind of stretch marks oil or cream.
Do moisturise your skin regularly – Stretch marks appear as your skin loses moisture when it stretches to accommodate the baby. But if you are providing this moisture to your skin, then the affect isn’t much. Make it a routine to apply a good moisturizer over your tummy at least twice a day throughout your pregnancy and even after it.
Don’t forget to exfoliate your skin too – During pregnancy often you are too tired to clean and treat your skin deeply. This darkens the area around your lower back, lower abdomen and even thighs. Of course, the stretch marks are visible in these areas, but the uneven skin tone can add to the scars too. So, deeply exfoliate your skin regularly using a body scrub to ensure that the stretch marks oil treatments you are using works better.
Do include vitamin C in your diet – If we believe the skin experts, Vitamin C is natural moisturizer not just for your skin, but it inwardly helps it glow and nourish as well. So, along with using stretch marks oil, when you include lots of Vitamin C in your diet, it automatically helps your skin to heal faster.
Don’t forget the advanced treatments too – There are some great advanced technological treatments that you can try for treating the stretch marks too. Like the laser of lighting treatment. Yes, it does dig a hole in your pocket, but the results are quite good and really fast. You can actually get rid of those Stretch marks without any fuss of oil or creams and within two or three sittings.
