DIY Non-toxic Nursery & Toy Disinfectant

By Lindsayleighbentley @lindsayLbentley

A few weeks ago I was late picking Miles up from the church nursery.  I arrived to find him in a plume of Lysol spray as the worker was getting a head-start on her cleaning routine.

I quickly scooped him up with an “ooh, I’d rather him not breathe that in…”

“Oh…uh…sorry…” she replied, and went on spraying.

I get it.  Most people don’t understand just how harmful disinfectant sprays like Lysol are.

And thankfully, Miles is a strong, healthy boy without any asthma or respiratory issues!

Anyhow, it inspired me to make a safe and healthy version to use here at home:

While I can’t control the fact that once a week he is sucking on toys that have been bathed in the nasty stuff, I can control what we do at home…and I’ll be sure to never be late picking him up again!

I routinely spray the boys’ toys down with this, especially after a play-date with friends!  It is safe for all toys as well as furniture and rugs. And you don’t have to worry if your little one ingests or inhales a bit when they grab a freshly-sprayed toy!

It actually smells awesome thanks to the Thieves

:)
Plus, the vinegar is a natural deodorizer once it dries.
