If you are a happy owner of a cat, you know that all felines love eating grass. By eating grass they make their stomach and digestive tract work better. If your fluffy friend is not allowed outdoors, it often gets really interested in the house plants. To save your plants from being eaten you can always grow a personal pot of grass for your cat.
What you will need:
- Small pot
- Pottering soil
- Gravel or pebbles
- Rye oat seeds or wheat grass
- Water
- Plastic wrap
Step 1. Put a thin layer of pebbles or gravel at the bottom of your pot. It will help the water drain.
Step 2. Cover the drainage pebbles with about an inch of pottering soil.
Step 3. Scatter the rye oat or wheat seeds across the soil surface. You can cover the whole soil surface with the seeds
Step 4. Cover the seeds with a thin ( approx. 1/4 in.) layer of pottering soil.
Step 5. Water the soil
Step 6. Cover the pot with plastic wrap.
Step 7. Put the pot in the warm place and make sure it gets enough of the sun light. Keep the soil moist, but not too much.
It will take about 3 days for the sprouts to appear.
Wait for the sprouts to grow at least 3-4 in. high and let your cat enjoy the meal
