The Smith is an upscale American Restaurant. I had been to their other location in DC at Penn Quarter but wanted to try the new addition to the U Street. This location is just a few weeks old and my experience here was beyond amazing.
Our server was so attentive and made some great recommendations.
Menu is quite expansive including meats, seafood, and other entrées and appetizers. We started off with spicy salmon tartar (for husband), shishito peppers and some warm bread for the table. For appetizers I got the burrata, which was fresh and delicious and my husband ordered the mac and cheese. He said it was creamy, cheesy, and just delicious. And of course we have pictures below as proof. For the main course I ordered the spring vegetable cavatelli and my husband got the salmon and we split a salad (because fiber!). Words cannot express how satisfying our meal was ... Everything was fresh and delicious. We skipped the desserts since I can't have sugar and my husband didn't have any space left for it. The food was absolutely mouth-watering and filling.

And you know, that as a vegetarian any restaurant that offers delicious options other than just a salad, always scored high in my booksBelieve you me, I am headed back there for brunch this weekend.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated, dimly lit with a wonderful welcoming ambience. The atmosphere is perfect for a date, special occasion or celebration. The Smith - Website | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram
