Design Board (Blue and Gold Family Room)

Hi there. I know I've been a little quiet this week. We drove to Maryland last Friday to spend the last few days of Hanukkah with Jake's family. On our drive down, we heard the awful news of the Newtown tragedy as it was breaking. We sat in silence stunned and saddened as we tried to wrap our brains around what had happened.  The things is, this is not something you can wrap your brain around.  I hope and pray that we can all come together to discuss ways to prevent something like this from ever happening again.  I decided to take a few days off from blogging (it just seemed too trivial), but it didn't feel right to jump right into this post without mentioning Newtown.  <3 My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected.
Today I'm sharing with you a new design board that I've been working on. You might recall, I'll be sharing a new design with you each week. This week I chose to work on a tranquil family room.  I used soothing blues and whites with pops of gold and yellow.

I wanted to give the room a casual, relaxed feel and pull in elements of nature.  I love how the modern furniture gives the country decor an updated feel.
