Desert Essence Body Lotion Review

By Savvybrown @savvybrownblog

A reader asked me once if I could recommend any healthy hand or body lotions. At the time, I couldn’t because I usually make my own Whipped Shea Body Cream and use it on my skin. I was out, however, and I decided to pick up some Desert Essence Organics Coconut Hand and Body Lotion. I was excited because the product has no: Parabens, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates, phthalates, artificial fragrances or colors, silicones, EDTA, glycol or petroleum based ingredients.

Desert Essence Body Lotion Review

Desert Essence Organics Body Care Coconut Hand and Body Lotion 8oz. $8.00

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Passiflora Incarnata Flower Extract (Passion Fruit)*, Hibiscus Rose-Sinensis Flower Extract*, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Glycerin, Stearic Acid (Vegetable Derived), Glyceryl Stearate SE (Plant Derived), Coco Nuciferea (Coconut) Oil*, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Better*, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate (Mineral), Xanthan Gum, Benzyl Alcohol (Plant Derived), Potassium Sorbate (From Fruit), Dehydroacetic Acid, Fragrance (Parfum)*Certified Organic

The consistency of this lotion reminds me of a nice thick, leave-in conditioner. A little goes a long way, and my dry skin just drank it up. It doesn’t leave your hands all sticky either. (Probably because it doesn’t have any mineral oil in it). This stuff is also great to slather on your feet at night and wrap up in socks. In the morning, my feet were nice and moisturized. The coconut fragrance is pretty strong, however, but it does wear of after a little while (kind of like perfume). Compared to other natural lotions, many of which retail for more than $12, the $8 pricetag is another reason to love this stuff. (You can often find it online for even less! Check out the Savvy Shop for details)

RATING*: 5 Savvy! – Great product, good ingredients, great price, multiple uses, lasts a long time, will buy again!

As always. This product is available in the Savvy Shop
