Derma E: A New Year Detox For Your Skin

With the holidays winding down, I decided it was probably time to give my face a new year detox. The holidays are are always full of events that call for lots of dressing up and make up. Though I tend to use fairly natural makeup, my pores love soaking up any and everything it can.

The best kept secret you can use as a detox for your skin is charcoal. While my pores love soaking up anything it can, charcoal reverses this process. By drawing all the bacteria, dirt, chemicals, and other harmful micro-pollutants to the surface, your skin can breathe again!

I was able to check out their Purifying Daily Detox Scrub and their Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask which was the perfect combination to jump start my new year detox. Each product retails for under $20 which is a steal for eco ethical skin care products!

The Purifying Daily Detox Scrub was not quite what I expected, and not in a bad way. It is lighter gray in color with little particle scrubbers in it which I believe to be apricot seeds. You only need about a dime size amount to cover your whole face thoroughly. When washing my face, it felt very light and the apricot seeds did an amazing job at exfoliating. After rinsing and pat drying my face is where I really felt a difference. You know that squeaky clean feeling you get after washing with soap? It was like that except my face was incredibly smooth and soft. This was a huge selling point for me!

Next, I followed up with the Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask to really give my skin a nice detox. The Charcoal Mask is thicker and a darker shade of gray. Once I started applying it to my face I was caught way off guard again! This was the absolute lightest face mask I have ever applied to my face. It took a crazy quick 5 minutes to dry and then it was ready to be washed off as well. Before I rinsed I inspected my face and could in fact see little specks of gunk that was pulled to the surface of my face. It was gross and relieving all at the same time.

Honestly both of these product knocked my socks off on what they have to offer. The Purifying Daily Detox Scrub is easily going to be my new daily face wash. I have combination skin so the fact that it can exfoliate and cleanse my face without drying out my sensitive areas is amazing. The Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask did a great job at pulling all those nasty toxins out while not feeling like I was wearing a tub of mud on my face. I’ll have to add this one to my weekly Friday face mask rotation.
