Definition of an Obama Useful Idiot

By Eowyn @DrEowyn

The term “useful idiot” was first used to refer to Soviet sympathizers, i.e., commies, in Western countries who naïvely thought of themselves as an ally of the Soviet Union, but were actually held in contempt and were being cynically used.

The use of the term in political discourse has since been extended to all who unwittingly support a malignant cause whose goals they are not fully aware of, and which they naïvely believe to be a force for good. The leaders of the cause cynically use the useful idiots to gain power and achieve their malignant goals, after which, the idiots will be tossed aside.

While surfing the net looking, in vain, for a Peggy Noonan column (more on that later *), I found this sign on a now-defunct Obamabot blog, Mudflats.

The handwritten note was posted on the bulletin board of the Alaskan headquarters of the 2008 Obama for President campaign.

O Alaskan headquarters 2008

Here’s the note:

“he inspires people not only to believe in him, but more importantly in themselves and their power to change the world.”

Yup, that’s why the number of Americans on food stamps has skyrocketed under the POS.

Hey, all you Obamabots.

How’s that “Hope and Change” thingy working out for ya?

*In 2008, after Obama won the Democratic Party’s nomination to be their presidential candidate, Peggy Noonan wrote a column in which she ominously referred to demons (or some other similar word) being unleashed. Alas, I did not save that column and spent an hour yesterday searching in vain on the web for it. If you know where I can find it, please leave a comment on this thread or email me at:

Thank you!
