Decorating With Artificial Bamboo Silk Plants

By Matt From Sgc @MattSGC

Bamboo

It gets that term ‘silk’ from the way its leaves look and feel. Artificial bamboo plants like these are all the rage these days. They make away with unnecessary maintenance costs and other upkeep expenses while still managing to provide a natural flair and green ambiance to the space they stand in. This is one of the reasons why plants like these are called ‘nearly natural’, or artificial plants.

Twiggy bamboo trees are ideal choices for open spaces because they have extensive leafy spreads that stand broadly in your room. Bamboo trees in general come in varying heights, leaf hues and dimensions. You can find tut in such wide ahem from a few inches to a few feet, even up to seven feet tall.

Black Bamboo is a much sought after artificial bamboo plant. It adheres to the need to protect this sparse type of vegetation and all the life it supports in the wild. By opting for the artificial kind, you get 99% of the same natural look and presence while saving the environment and also making maintenance easier for you. All it takes is a hose-down to clean these artificial plants.

The Bamboo Palm Tree is yet another silk-leaved artificial plant that looks sumptuous and space-filling. It’s nice wide leaves, for a bamboo plant, are deep green and look almost like a jungle tree.

If you want something that’s neither a foot tall nor too short, check out artificial bamboo trees in cement pots that stand at about 25 or more inches. These are a good fit for desk and table tops or for placement on the portico/verandah.

Burgundy Bamboo poles aren’t plants per se, because they lack the leaves and twigs people usually associate artificial bamboo plants with. However, they are outstanding additions to your living space and display silken burgundy stems, or green as the variety goes. You can use these to distinguish special sections of your home or to act as creative dividers that enhance the look of your space while letting you experiment with different decor ideas.

In a lot of ways, the same is also true of artificial bamboo plants, especially when you have something like a Silk Bamboo Palm in a good looking foundation like wood, wicker or white recyclable plastic. They look amazing and their wide foliage make for some interesting decor touches.

Not all artificial bamboo plants are safe from the sun’s searing effects. Over the course of time (and a brief one at that) the sun may cause their silken leaves to give in to pigmentation or look too dry. This is only in locations where the sun’s heat is felt more strongly than elsewhere. There are UV Resistant Bamboo Trees available to fill this niche and they look just as amazing as the other varieties.

Combos are always awesome, especially in the case of bamboo plants. Mixing and matching with flowers or other greenery brings out the beautiful slim twigs and leaves of the artificial bamboo plant being used and creates an overall sensational looking green decor piece.
