The 2015 Signature Series Bligh’s Barleywine will make its debut at Canoe Room on Thursday, December 3 at 2pm. Taste the beer on tap and purchase bombers at this release event. Don’t miss the Bligh’s pairing with Big Kiwi Eats— the food truck will start slingin’ its Kiwi-style grub at 3:30 p.m.
Thur., Dec. 3, 6:30 p.m.: Elysian Brewing Company Tap Takeover at the West End Tavern (926 Pearl St., Boulder).
The December 2015 edition of The West End Tavern’s Satellite Taproom series will feature Elysian Brewing Company from Seattle, Washington. Guests will get the chance to taste a full lineup from Elysian and meet the brewers themselves, live and in person. Featured brews will include: Men’s Room – Original Red Ale, Immortal – Northwest Coast IPA, Loser – Pale Ale (Created for celebration of over 20 years of Sub Pop Records) , Bifrost – Winter Ale (Seasonal), and Space Dust – Totally Nebular IPA. Sixty Minute Men will perform live and, since it ‘tis the season, be sure to wear your favorite festive ugly X-mas sweater. There will be games, Christmas story trivia, and some sweet prizes.

We’re releasing bottles of Second Birthday Beer (a doppelbock) on Friday at 1:00. This Fall, groups of our members have been pairing up with three Front Range brewers to create a holiday beer. All members are invited to join us at these events. For our THIRD anniversary, we are moving the party down the road to Summit Music Hall! Join us to celebrate three years of making beer. Mon., Dec. 7, 7-9 p.m.: 2 for 1 Holiday Cookie Tasting at Odd 13 (301 E. Simpson St., Lafayette).
Enjoy 2 tastings for the price of one at this event at Odd 13 Brewing. We’ll first try out the array of stouts they’ll have on tap. Then we’ll learn about their kettle sours. We’ll pair both with holiday cookies. The tasting ticket price is $20 with $5 payable to reservve your seat and the balance payable at the taproom on the night of the event.

In the spirit of the holiday season, the Denver Beer Festivus brings beer, a jolly crowd, music, airing of grievances, a shiny Festivus pole together to create one heck of a celebration. The fourth annual Denver [only] Beer Festivus will take place on December 13th from 2:00 – 5:30pm at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum.

Tue., Dec. 15, 6-8 p.m.: Women-Only Brewer’s Yeast Class at Factotum Brewhouse (3845 Lipan St., Denver).
Join Factotum and Inland Island Brewing Company for a seminar on one of the four main ingredients of beer: yeast! Matthew and John, owners/microbiologists of Inland Island, specialize in propagating different types of yeast that brewers put into beer. They will be brewing up four different samples of base beer with different yeast strains so you can taste the difference between each one. Whether you’re an aspiring brewer or you just want to know what the big deal is about yeast and how it affects beer, join us for this fun evening of learning and laughs.
