DEAREST RELEASED AN ALBUM EIGHT YEARS IN THE MAKING [STREAM] Pause Dearest – On Paper SoundCloud

Nottingham boys, Dearest, are starting out 2015 on a somber yet high note, releasing their debut album The Pastures earlier this month. While The Pastures is Dearest’s first album, it’s actually one that was eight years in the making, capping off a wonderful start for the seasoned group. The band’s somber tones are laced throughout the album, even on the quicker tracks like “Round Tables”, which starts things off. The simple melodies and catchy guitar riffs carry the record from beginning to end with tracks like “Cornish Coast”, but the quiet “On Paper” gives The Pastures its needed depth and helps highlight the group’s talent. The album closes out with “Citizen”, a hit made for an IFC film, and “Come Home”, a somber love ballad, both songs representing the duality of Dearest’s sound. Our key takeaway from this — we can only hope it doesn’t take another eight years for the next album to surface.
