Dear (or Not So Dear) Coworkers:

By Gray Eyed Athena @grayeyedowl

Please, please stop asking me how I’m doing or if I’m ok.  Please stop telling me I look pale/tired/sick.  And PLEASE stop trying to figure out a way to ask me what’s wrong with me without saying the words “so what’s wrong with you?”

I appreciate the concern, but I have a sneaking feeling that it’s fueled by nosiness and a lack of manners rather than by genuine care for my well-being.  I don’t think I’m being cynical, I’m just learning to understand my fellow humans and for the most part, the ones I work with are certainly not the cream of the crop.  The intensity of the gossip chain and the persistent rudeness I see here on a daily basis is off-putting, to say the least.  You’re all adults; get a filter.
