I just recently had an incredible date night with my husband! It was literally...YEARS since he and I went out JUST THE TWO OF US for late night drinks. Soon I'll be sharing that outfit with you on the blog and also what I drank! I'm going through a personal wine revolution overhere and am seriously thinking about taking a Sommelier course for beginners and enthusiasts (to think I was once content with cheap wine!). Speaking of wine have you entered the current giveaway for three bottles of Chianti Classico?
My impromptu date night was MUCH NEEDED and already has me exited about Valentine's Day because we are GOING OUT AGAIN! I forgot how much I missed wearing heels, feeling sexy, having a good 'adult only' laugh and getting tipsy enough to giggle.
It is important to remember to carve out couple time because, let's face it, it's hard to connect when you're at home preparing dinner, doing bath time, story time, bedtime routines, washing dishes and hanging laundry ....know what I mean?
Plus I have so many cute clothes and great shoes that I don't get to wear without an occasion, so today's post is about making your OWN OCCASION and planning a Valentine's Date Night to remember with a bit of style inspo from Shopbop.
The Sculptural Heel
The sculptural heel is a bold Spring fashion trend that mixes your feminine sensibility with a love for architecture. I'm currently in LOVE with the Salvatore Ferragamo sandals featuring a bold, stacked gold and silver metallic heel. Get your mischief on, in these Mercury (Roman God of Thieves and Commerce) inspired heels!
A Super Fun Bag
Your bag should be as fun as you are on Valentine's Day! Leave boring at home and show your man that you're up for a good time by dressing the part. The Kate Spade New York Ampersand Clutch is the perfect #coupleselfie accessory for a foto of YOU "&" HIM that your Social Media friends will go crazy over!
Go Short Or Go Home
Why are we so afraid of sexy once we land ourselves in a stable relationship? Now in my mid-30s I have honestly never felt more on top of my game. I work out, I eat well and yet I always seem to think twice before showing off my curves. In 2016 I've resolved to have more self confidence and part of that is dressing up for my man on our date nights.
Did I mention that I also use an epilator to remove body hair weekly! The secret to showing off those legs is keeping them smooth (and it would be nice it it was *just* a few degrees warmer outside)!
This hemline is sure to make more than a few heads turn and hopefully you'll get a bit more attention from the love of your life! It comes as no surprise that it was designed by Diane von Fürstenberg who, even at 69, just oozes sex appeal!
Because the Night Belongs to Lovers
Can we talk about Valentine's Day without talking about lingerie? No we cannot! But first let me say that I don't think beautiful intimate-wear that makes you feel special should be limited to one day a year! I honestly believe that the key to keeping it fresh in a long term relationship is making the effort both on the home front and in the boudoir. When you find the right person it should be more about keeping the flame lit the whole night long as opposed to a few seconds of fireworks...metaphorically speaking! I am loving the elegant nightwear and lingerie from the Morgan Lane collection, visit Shopbop to check out their beautiful selection of modest sleep rompers to two piece PJs.
I hope this post has got you in the mood for a bit of romance and hopefully has you planning an evening to reconnect this Valentine's Day.
