This was my first trip to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum with its large collection of aircraft, of which many are placed outside on the flight deck.  The Dassault Étendard IV is a subsonic carrier-borne strike fighter aircraft, which entered service with the French Navy in 1962.  90 aircraft were procured, 69 Étendard IVM fighters and 21 Étendard IVP reconnaissance versions, and deployed aboard the French Clemenceau-class aircraft carriers, the Clemenceau and Foch.  Replaced by the Super Étendard, the original Étendard was retired from carrier service in 1980 without seeing any combat, and was phased out from active roles in 1987.  The distinctive fin under the nose contained the radio command guidance link antenna for use with the Nord AS.30 radio-guided air-to-surface missile for ground or antiship attack.  Fuji X-E2s w/18-55mm.
