Dark Souls 2's weapon durability bug tied to 60fps frame rate; to be addressed in next patch
A bug causing weapons to break much faster in the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin will be fixed in an upcoming patch, Bandai Namco has confirmed.
The glitch is apparently tied to the game's higher 60fps frame rate, causing weapons to rapidly deteroriate in the current-gen and PC versions. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, which are both capped at 30fps, are not believed to be affected.
"The fix will be issued for PS4, Steam and Xbox One, and will be apparent for people running the game at 60fps as the durability decrease rate is linked to the frame rate," a Bandai Namco representative told Kotaku. "We are still working on the exact release date for the patch, which will also fix additional issues not just durability, and will follow up with the date as soon as possible."
Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin launched on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC earlier this month.
